Participación de la mujer en la economía del conocimiento. Estudio comparativo a nivel Europeo y regional

Abstract

En este estudio se presentan y analizan los resultados del informe europeo realizado en el marco del proyecto “National Assessments on Gender and STI” patrocinado por UNESCO. De dicho estudio se han seleccionado para tratar en profundidad las dimensiones vinculadas con la participación de hombres y mujeres en la economía del conocimiento y en el sistema de ciencia y tecnología. Se muestran los resultados comparativos de los diversos países/regiones participantes y se detalla el caso de la Unión Europea, haciendo especial hincapié en la situación de España. Los resultados muestran una amplia diversidad en función del contexto regional, ubicando a Europa en una situación intermedia con respecto a otras regiones. Dentro de Europa, España se ubica en el promedio de los países aunque aún hay diversos ámbitos en los que se advierte una brecha en la presencia y participación de mujeres.

This study presents and analyzes the results of the European report developed into the framework of the project "National Assessments on Gender and STI" sponsored by UNESCO. In this study we have chosen to deal in depth the dimensions related to the participation of men and women in the knowledge economy and the science and technology system. Comparative results are shown in different countries / regions involved. The case of the European Union, with particular emphasis on the situation in Spain, was analyzed in detail. The results show a wide diversity in terms of the regional context, placing Europe in an intermediate position related to other regions. Within Europe, Spain is located in the country average although there are still many areas where a gap is seen in the presence and participation of women.
