dc.description.abstractAppropriate technologies have been identified as ways in which developing countries can rely to reduce technological gaps, have affordable and efficient solutions for problems. This paper described the mechanisms used in an innovation project in rural Colombia to develop appropriate technologies using by-products of the fish production. This new technology involves the development of a pellet to feed animals and the creation of a new manufacturing plant to produce the new product. In this study the innovation process has as one, of the collaborative network, exchanged and learning processes happen. This paper shows how innovation generated in a collaborative way among universities, rural enterprises, NGOs, and governmental organisations.
