Capacitações inovadoras e estudo de patentes: uma análise da agroindústria sucroalcooleira no Nordeste do Brasil

Abstract

O objetivo desse trabalho é analisar as capacitações tecnológicas da agroindústria sucroalcooleira situada no Nordeste do Brasil. Esse artigo mapeou as capacitações tecnológicas de 33 usinas no Nordeste e as patentes relacionadas a produção de açúcar e etanol, depositadas no INPI por inventores sediados no nordeste. O referencial analítico utilizado foram os estudos da abordagem da Resource-Based View (PENROSE, 2006; WERNEFELT, 1997; BARNEY, 1991) e os trabalhos de Shikida et al. (2010) e Souza et al (2005). Aplicaram-se a análise de conglomerados para entender as características centrais das capacitações das usinas e o mapeamento patentário para analisar as áreas tecnológicas desenvolvidas no setor. Os resultados obtidos evidenciam que essa agroindústria apresenta capacitação tecnológica em nível básico e intermediário, porém, no nível avançado as capacitações são baixas ou inexistentes. No cenário patentário, percebe- se a quase inexistência de depósitos de patentes em 10 anos, por parte de atores industriais nordestinos no setor.

The study aims to analyze the technological capabilities of the sugarcane agroindustry located in Northeastern Brazil. This article mapped the technological capabilities of 33 plants in the Northeast and the patents related to the production of sugar and ethanol, registered in INPI by inventors established in the northeast. The analytical framework used was made of studies of the Resource-Based View approach (PENROSE, 2006; WERNEFELT, 1997, BARNEY, 1991) and the works of Shikida et al. (2010) and Souza et al (2005). The cluster analysis was applied in-order to understand the central characteristics of the plants capabilities, and the software Wordle was used to analyze the technological fields of the patents. The obtained results demonstrate that the agroindustry presents technological capability in a basic and an intermediate level; however at an advanced level, skills were low or nonexistent. In the patents field, during a 10 years period, it is demonstrated nearly an absence of patent applications by northeastern agents in the industrial sector
